REFLECTIONS ON PERSUASIVE SPEECH PERFORMANCE Reflect: 1. Given all the guidance, lessons, and materials to use for your speech preparations in order for you to be successful in your speech deliveries, what made you divert from those tools and step by step guidance? I think what made me divert was that I rushed to get everything done by not starting to work on my power point and speech early enough. 2. Which of the following efforts from your instructor [listed below] did you take advantage of? Please, check the ones that apply: [X] Clear objectives in the course syllabus [X] Learning activities geared towards helping you achieve the course objectives and prepare for great speech performances [X] Use of campus available technology for us such as Angel Communicate and PSU webmail for reminders and additional guidance [X] Repetitive classroom lessons and tips to ensure that the principles of effective speech preparations, speech organization, citation of sources, and effective delivery are attained [X] Reminders and guidance both in class and through Angel Communicate and webmail to ensure you do not forget to miss anything 3. Please, list down the course materials you did not like or you were disagreeable with? Go to Angel if you have not saved any of them yet. Click on Communicate and Check all materials and guide provided you. Do you have sources that support your disagreement against these materials? I thought all the course materials were very helpful. I think those who found them unhelpful didn't utilize them properly or when they were explained in class weren’t full paying attention. 4. What do you think you could have done better to have made you more successful in your speech delivery for your persuasive speech? I could have practiced reading it more times in front of friends so I would be more comfortable when going up to give my speech. 5. What do you think you can do to prove that you can still improve in your speech performances before the final session in this course? I could speak openly more in class and volunteer for anything that would involve speaking in front of the group. | Mark Palucci
Self Evaluation 1) I would give my speech an A- because I had everything properly cited gave the credit to those who needed it and but I swung my arms to much and read off the board to much. 2) Strong areas were my citations and the organization and good information. My weak areas were reading off the board and letting my nervousness show. |
